family vacation to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, TN day 1 and 2

going down...yikes!!

ella and weston got to admire the view from the viewfinder.

the view from the top was gorgeous!
on our way up!

i videoed on the way up sky lift and chad took pictures. on the way down, we switched. i'm not gonna lie, i was a little terrified! it was so high up and the space between us and the bar was huge! i thought i was going to lose my purse several times and going down, i thought i would lose ella! she decided to lay down with her legs hanging off the side! i nearly had a heart attack!
this is quite possibly one of my favorite pics of the kids! it just might be next year's christmas card:o)
and chad went to the moon!
ella rode a motorcyle...
weston and i climbed the rock wall. i made it to the top and was a little freaked out coming down. my fear of falling was really tested this week!
a picture of the ceiling in wonderworks. everything was upside down and the fact that it was all cracked really bothered ella. i think she thought it was going to fall down.
on our first day in pigeon forge/gatlinburg, we decided to explore our surroundings a little. we took the kids to wonderworks (http://www.wonderworkstn.com/) . it was such an awesome museum for the kids; totally hands-on and did a great job of keeping them entertained! i would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the gatlinburg, tn area!

the outside of the indoor waterpark...
we made it!! we stayed at wilderness at the smokies in sevierville, tn (http://www.wildernessatthesmokies.com/). it has an amazing indoor waterpark complete with a wave pool, a surf rider, 6 waterslides, 2 hot tubs and 2 kids areas. the kids had a blast! it was perfect too, because our room was right down the hall from it!

when ella turned 3, we cut her nigh-night in half. now she swaps between the 2 halves always choosing the "yucky, stinky one" to suck on. i thought this was funny:o) we put the yucky one in the window to block the sun and even the clean one was on her lap, she fell asleep with the gross one in her mouth.

Christmas 2009

not sure why we can never seem to get a great family photo, but this one was the best of 5 taken at dad's the day after christmas.
cousins!
chad, finley and i battled it out in scrabble on the go with chad taking the ultimate victory!
my beautiful sisters:o)
ella, landon, ryan, and logan all climbed in the toybox.
an mp3 player! hooray!
a dog is just what i always wanted!!

christmas morning we set up all of the puppy stuff with a note left from santa on the computer ( because he couldn't get the printer to work;o) explaining that weston was still too young for a bb gun, but that he had picked out the perfect dog for him and ella to share. he left us a map so we could bring him home after our vacation. turns out he lived in TN only an hour from where we were going! thanks, santa!

The Rockettes- 12/23/09

on december 23rd i got to go the rockettes at the richmond coliseum with the some of the ladies from chad's family and with my mom and aunt janice. we had so much fun!! i would definitely love to see it again next year (maybe in new york)! i totally look pregnant in this picture, but i promise it's just the way i was standing. i'm totally not!:o)

Let it snow!

i know that i am a little late in my postings, but these are some pics of the snow we got the weekend of the 18th. we ended up getting a little more than 16 inches at our house. we played in the snow for the entire weekend and then some! we even ended up having a white christmas!

Erin's Big Race

Yesterday Erin and our friend Suzie ran the Blue and Gray 1/2 Marathon in Fredericksburg. The weather was so nasty!! It was 34 degrees and rained the whole time! It was Erin's first 1/2 ever and i'm so proud of her for running it! I would not have run in that weather. Although she didn't get the time she was hoping for, she still did great! Congratulations girls!

Our Weekend at the Gaylord-12/12-12/13

This weekend we went to the Gaylord at National Harbor with the Grays and Chad's parents and sister's family. First we at brunch with Santa Claus and he indulged in us by letting us take a million different pictures with him! This was one of all the kids. After brunch we checked into our room and got into our snow gear to go to the ICE show. It was so incredible!! Everything was made out of ice! The kids especially loved the ice slide! We didn't end up ice skating because the session times didn't work for us, but we did get to watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" while swimming in the pool. The kids thought that was great! We ate pizza and doughnuts in the The Grays room to celebrate Christianna's 6th birthday and we got to watch it "snow" in the atrium from their balcony. It was such a fun weekend and a great new family tradition:o)

The nativity scene...An ice angel with my two angels:o)

My Failed Attempt At Christmas Pictures...

i am afraid that i might not get christmas cards out ever this year!! my children will not cooperate when i want to take pictures of them. these are a few of my failed attempts...
this one is actually my favorite, but ella totally covered weston's face with her hand!

weston looks like a total goofball in this one, but this is the only smile he kept giving me!

Playdate at the Battlefields...

A couple Saturdays ago i took Weston, Ella, and Weston's friend, Aiden for a playdate. It was a cold day, but nice and sunny, so we headed over to the battlefields and climbed Lee's Hill. They had so much fun racing to the top and looking out over the city. After that we went down to the cannons on Lee Drive and ran like crazy and played in the leaves. Then we headed over to Kenmore Park and played for awhile. We left there and met Aiden's mom and little brother at Chick-fil-A for lunch. The kids had such a great time and thanked me by taking a nice long nap:o)zzzzzzzzz
My favorite tree on Lee Drive.
